In college I was elected as the Advertising Manager for The Harvard Crimson newspaper. The Crimson is the largest collegiate newspaper in the world with 1 million+ monthly impression.
In my time as the Advertising Manager, I led a team of 15+ to secure ~$800k in ad sales revenue in FY18, seeing 40% YoY growth amid prior years of decline.
This was the result of my focus on launching projects that diversified our product portfolio away from print such as sponsored content. New sponsored clients included Netflix and Clif Bar, generating ~$100k of new revenue during my tenure. See here.
Another project I managed during my tenure was the installation of digital kiosks around campus to boost circulation and advertising impressions, allowing us to raise CPM.
